Running Club

Soooo excited to be finishing every week with an 0800 running club! What a lovely way to start the day. A huge welcome to all our runners. I wonder how many miles we will cover between us over the course of this half term?

Great to see so many committed runners out in force this morning. Whilst it was a little too damp to be outside, the runners' spirits were certainly not dampened. The 'Step Up' challenge and the 'Playing Card' challenge were very much enjoyed. What a fabulous Friday fitness session!

In the words of Jim Carey, what a b-e-a-utiful morning for a run! Unfortunately, our feet were a little soggy on the field so we decamped to the playground where the focus of this week's session was on navigating corners and changing speed through three activities - 'Trains and Carriages', a variation of 'The Madison' and 'The Slalom'. We finished with a cheeky little game of Stuck in the Mud before stretching our hamstrings, quadriceps and calf muscles through some static stretches. Great teamwork and club camaraderie today - what a team!

A chilly but hugely enjoyable running club this morning. Lots of laughter despite our focus on endurance this week! Check out the red faces at the end! So proud of group of children giving their all this morning.

We are hoping to head off site next week, accompanied by Miss Jarvis. The children are VERY excited!

Watch this space.

Luckily, the weather was kind to us for the final week of running club before the half term break and we were able to head off site as planned.

Miss Jarvis and Mrs Osborne loved the chance to start their day - a little misty admittedly - taking in the fresh air and opening their lungs.

Red faces a plenty by the end and a LOT of smiling faces.
