A Chance to Shine cricket

Our Year 1 and 2 children were delighted to welcome Matt Morley for the first 'Chance to Shine' cricket session of the half term. The first session focussed on catching whilst we all attempted to become 'cool catchers'! This required us to watch the ball at all times, have our hands in the ready position and throw the ball towards our partners hands. Whilst concentrating on developing our hand to eye co-ordination and controlling an object we needed to apply the school's three golden rules of being Ready, Respectful and Safe. What a great start to the summer term. Thank you Mr Morley - we are looking forward to next week already!

Week 4 of Mr Morley being here at Coton delivering cricketing fundamentals to our children in year 1 and 2.

'Ferocious Fielding' was the order of the day with children considering the best position to throw from, what to do with their non-throwing arm to be as accurate as possible and selecting which throw to use according to distance.

Otter Class children are really looking forward to developing their 'Skilful' Scoring' next week.
