Game Sense - Invasion

In our first lesson of our Invasion Games unit we considered how to pass, where to pass and why to pass to a teammate. We also thought about the consequence of executing an inaccurate pass. Introducing a defender, we were challenged to apply our accurate passing to avoid the ball being intercepted. Using effective communication, we worked together as teams to ensure all players were passing and moving to try to maintain possession.

As this week was the first really chilly one of the term so far, we layered up ahead of our PE lesson with Mr P.
Our Coton cooperation was in full force as we rehearsed some of the fundamental skills developed last week in order to be successful in any invasion game before considering ways to react when reversing from attack to defence and vice versa. Our only negative...slightly odorous bibs!

Hedgehogs loved their final PE lesson of the term with Mr P. An opportunity to put all their attacking and defending skills into practice as the end of unit intra competition ensued. It was so rewarding to hear Mr P enthuse about how far this group of children have come over the past 6 weeks.

To hear than any year 3 / 4 class teacher would be proud to showcase this cohort's invasive skills was just wonderful.
