Mini Olympics
So much to celebrate at the Intra House Swimming Gala that Hedgehog Class took part in in the morning as part of their Mini Olympics Day.
Following a whole class dry land warm up, children represented their houses in a variety of events. It was a closely fought competition with the Griffins and Dragons finishing on 20 points whilst the Phoenixes just snook victory with a two point margin. children learned about the history of the Olympic Games, the medals awarded to podium finishers and were introduced to the Paris Games' mascots, the Phryges.
After lunch,
The afternoon saw all the competitors split into teams of 4 or 5 as they headed out to the school playground and field to take part in a number of Olympic and Paralympic Games activities designed by the South Cambs School Sports Partnership and ably led by our Year 6 pupils.
Yet another day to be proud of our children at Coton for demonstrating outstanding leadership, cooperaton, compassion and teamwork.
A great afternoon was had by all with many achieving personal bests in the different events.
Thank you to the Sports Partnership for providing the resources for which proved to be a memorable afternoon.
