Swimming and Water Safety
We recognise that we are incredibly lucky to be one of a very small number of schools in our County to continue to have an on site pool. It is always this time of year that our children reap the benefits as they get the opportunity to access this wonderful facility.
Here, our reception children got their very first taste of 'pool life' as they took to the water to showcase their confidence in the water. They did so with enthusiasm and were exemplary in following our rules for being safe in and around the water. During their first session, they learnt how to get in and out of the water safely, played a number of games and got used to blowing bubbles and splashing water on their own faces.
Let's hope the glorious weather continues and they get to use the pool as much as possible this year!
Miss Jarvis had the pleasure of joining Owl Class for their swim session on Thursday afternoon. She was AMAZED at the level of water confidence on display. In such a short space of time, the children have mastered 'safe swivel entries' and are developing their floating skills. They were challenged to swim widths of the pool without floatation aids. Impressed is an understatement. Well done Owls!
Owls last swim session of the season saw them hunting for treasure in the pool whilst enjoying the sunny weather!
