Year 3/4 Orienteering Competition

On Tuesday 6th November a group of 12 children from Topaz and Emerald class went along to Comberton Village College to take part in the Orienteering competition.
There was a lot of running and the children had a lot of fun. They took part in an orienteering activity, Netball numbers and School Games Challenge. One group was lucky enough to win the Netball Numbers.
There were 36 teams and 14 school involved in the competition. Well done Coton, as usual you showed great cooperation and determination.
Small Schools Cross Country Event

On Thursday 22nd November 36 children from Coton school  boarded a coach to Milton Country Park to take part in the small school cross country event. The day was damp and chilly and the children were excited and nervous.
There were over 700 children at the event and 15 schools were represented so the competition was fierce. Coton had children from years 3,4,5 and 6 and everyone completed the 1,500 metre run. The children were enthusiastic in their support of each other, and as usual, showed all the sporting values we expect. Joshua came 2nd in his event and the year 5/6 team came 9th overall.
