Ethos and Equality Statement

Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level.

The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.

The children of Coton C of E (VC) Primary School decided and agreed our “ Coton 5 Cs”.

These are:

Creativity, Courage, Caring, Co-operation and  Challenge.

The Coton 5 C’s support  the  Christian values of our school and underpin all that we do here at Coton C of E (VC)  Primary School.  Our daily acts of collective worship are built around both the Coton 5 Cs and our Christian values, all of which adds to the unique character of our community for those of all faiths and none.

Within our grounds, we offer “wrap around” care and we want all our children to be able to take part in the before and after school clubs. We are fully inclusive and we encourage any children with special educational needs to attend these clubs. Through the use of the pupil premium, we make the  before and after school provision available to all. We aim to ensure all our parents and children know about the arrangements for before and after school clubs so that any lack of attendance is a positive choice.

We are always seeking to improve our communication with parents by increasing parental involvement in school life and identifying hard-to-reach groups. The next step is to encourage a broader representation of parents on the governing body.
