Perspective Art - September 2022

After learning about colour theory and exploring how to mix tints, shades and tones, to launch our topic of 'Maafa', we spent time exploring the continent of Africa and its varying landscapes. We carefully studied the artwork of African artists such as Albert Liza, Evans Yegon and Nii Hylton and used our knowledge of changing the tint, tone and shade of colours to match their wonderful pieces of work.

Once we were confident with changing the tint, tone and shade of a colour, we developed our knowledge of how to draw landscapes effectively. We learned about the importance of simplifying what we see, how to use scale to create distance in our landscapes and how to include one point of perspective to give depth.
