CVC Maths - March 2023
On Thursday 9th March, Kestrel Class were delighted to welcome Mrs Barker, Comberton Village College Math teacher, into school. Throughout the morning session, Mrs Barker encouraged the children to 'dive deeper into maths' with a variety of problem solving challenges. At every opportunity, the children were thinking more critically (by building strategically onto their initial ideas) and verbally reasoning and justifying their answers. It was wonderful to see and discuss the different strategies used by different children to reach a desired outcome; some children even took on the role of the teacher to model their thinking! We had a great morning and even spent time exploring the math problems with our parents at, 'Family Friday' the following day. We eagerly await Mrs Barker's next visit in a couple of weeks and would like to thank her for taking the time to visit us.
