School Council

Our school council is a very important part of Coton C of E school as we value the contribution of pupil voice.

Below are some comments the children have made about our school:

"The teachers are friendly and help me learn." Olivia

"I like challenging myself. It's good to do this as it helps me learn and makes learning fun." Zach

" I would like more golden time." Joshua

" I like going on school trips. We learn to co-operate and help each other." Liam

Each year, every class (apart from Reception) vote for two 'councillors' to represent their class on the school council. These councillors will attend regular school council meetings and report back to their classes during class council meetings. Although Mrs. McPhee organises the school council, it is very much run by the pupils. They decide the agenda, lead discussions, take minutes and decide actions. The school council is always involved in the appointment of new staff, any major changes e.g. school dinners and other events such as Children in Need.
