At playtimes and lunchtime there are always adults outside to look after us and help us. Here are the ways that we can help them:
- If you are unhappy or worried you can tell a friend or an adult and they will try to help.
- If someone is making you feel upset or is hurting you, tell them clearly and politely that you do not like it. If that does not work tell an adult.
- Be polite and co-operative with all adults and children in school; they are all here to help us.
- Be kind to other children and try to include them in your games. Be polite if you do not want to play with someone today – suggest that you will play with them another day.
- If someone doesn’t want you to join their game, ask if you can play another day and find someone else to play with.
- If someone wants to play on their own, let them.
- If you keep playing in the wrong places, or making people unhappy, you will have to have some time to calm down inside and miss your playtime or miss some Golden Time.
- Stay in the school grounds. The farmer’s fields and the neighbours’ gardens do not belong to school. We must respect their property.
- Don’t go behind the Pre-School mobile or swimming pool because we need to be where the people on duty can see us. Remember this is a public footpath.
- Play on the playground side of the main path because we cannot be seen if we are by the KS2 door.
- Never play with sticks because someone could get hurt.
- Only come into school if it is an emergency; ask if you need to use the toilet.
- Don’t play in the bushes at the top of the field because we cannot be seen.
- Never climb trees – we could fall and get hurt.
- No chasing games on the trim-trail, and remember only three people on each section.
- Only classes 3 and 4 are allowed to play on the playground on Friday morning playtime; Classes 1 and 2 should play somewhere else.
- The area behind the kitchen is used for playleader activities only, but otherwise we should not play there.
